At Guerreros Judo, the safety and well-being of every child is our highest priority. Our program proudly aligns with the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP)—the same standards required for all USA Judo programs specifically designed to prevent abuse, misconduct, and unsafe situations. These policies are comprehensive, proactive, and focused on prevention, transparency, and accountability.
What This Means for Your Child
No Private Situations
Coaches are never alone with athletes behind closed doors
All training is visible and open (others can always see or step in)
Full Transparency with Parents
Parents can watch practices anytime
Coaches cannot privately message athletes—parents are always included
Clear Boundaries
No sharing hotel rooms with minors (without strict rules and consent)
No inappropriate contact or situations in locker rooms
Any hands-on help is explained and done openly
Mandatory Reporting
All coaches and adults must report any concern immediately
Serious issues go directly to SafeSport and law enforcement if needed
Trained & Screened Coaches
All adults must complete SafeSport training before working with athletes
Training is renewed every year.
